Frequently asked questions

Microblading

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a way to achieve natural-looking eyebrows for those who don't have much (or any) brow hair or those who just want brows that are more full or filled in. It is a manual semi-permanent makeup procedure where tiny needles, which make up a small blade, are used to deposit pigment underneath the top layer of the skin. We do not use a tattoo gun, and pigment is used instead of ink to make natural-looking hair strokes and/or a powdered look.

Does it hurt?

Most clients say it doesn't hurt or that it just stings a little, but it depends on your pain tolerance. I am not stingy with numbing creams/gels and will make sure you are as comfortable as possible.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

Please CLICK HERE for everything you need to know to prepare for your Microblading appointment.

Do I have to get a touch-up? Why?

Yes! Some natural fading will occur during the healing process after your initial procedure. This happens because some parts of the skin may take pigment better than others. If you have very oily skin, you may need two touch-ups. We fix all of this fading in the touch-up as well as any areas you may want to shade or add a few more hair strokes. This touch-up must be done 6-12 weeks after the first procedure. We actually call this first touch-up the Perfecting Session.

How long does it take?

This depends how how much hair you naturally have, and your natural symmetry. However, I always say to allow for 3 hours for the initial procedure and and hour-and-a-half for the touch-up. Most of your first appointment is spent meticulously mapping and measuring to make sure you get the most perfect symmetrical brows that you LOVE before we start with the actual Microblading.

What pigment do you use?

I use the highest quality and most expensive pigments on the market today. The color fades less than cheap versions and stays true to color, so you don't have to worry about your brows turning blue or grey. Your color will be custom blended according to your hair color, skin type, and preference.

Can you Microblade over my tattooed eyebrows?

That depends on a few things. If your tattoo has significantly faded, it is much easier to make it look more natural. Dark tattoo cannot be Microbladed, because it won't show up. Also, if your eyebrows were tattooed quite unevenly, you may need to do tattoo removal first. Otherwise, we will have to do a very thick brow to make them match. Please send me a very clear close-up photo of your brows with no makeup on so I may assess if we can Microblade over your tattoo: CONTACT ME HERE with your photo. I will be offering tattoo removal soon.

Do you clean your tools?

YES! Most of what I use are one-time use disposable items. I also thoroughly clean, sanitize, and sterilize all of my reusable tools. I also use sterile water during the procedure. My sterilizer is a high-pressure steam autoclave, which is used in many hospitals and dental offices. I have an incredibly high standard of cleanliness due to my background working in various hospital and healthcare settings.

How much does it cost?

Microblading is usually $550 for the first session and $150 for the Perfecting Session. We do need a consultation to determine what your exact needs are.

I found it cheaper somewhere else. Do you price-match?

No, and please be VERY CAUTIOUS when getting cheap Microblading! Oftentimes cheap materials are used, because good supplies are expensive! If cheap needles are used, they can tear and damage your skin and leave scarring. Cheap pigments may also be used that don't last or turn funny colors. Sanitation & sterilization are also a HUGE DEAL to avoid infection and transmission of disease! Sterilization equipment and maintenance are not cheap! Remember, you get what you pay for! Cheap cost usually means cheap results or infection that you end up paying to fix later!

Do I need to tip?

That is entirely up to you. While it is never expected, it is always appreciated. As artists, it is one of the highest compliments we can receive. The only thing better is referrals! :)

How do I care for my new brows?

I will give you some printed directions and an after care kit to use on your brows following the procedure, which we will discuss before you leave. CLICK HERE to read the directions.

Help! I had Microblading done somewhere else and HATE IT!

It is possible to remove Microblading pigment following a less-than-desirable procedure. CLICK HERE to find out how. If it has been less than 24 hours, please text me for an emergency session. If it has been longer than 48 hours, you will need to wait at least three months before having it done again. Before you try to remove it, feel free to send me a photo or arrange a meeting with me to take a look. I may be able to touch them up for you. Please be VERY CAREFUL when talking to artists about removal techniques. If it is not laser removal performed by a doctor, it is probably not a legal procedure.

Permanent Makeup

Is this a tattoo?

Permanent Eyeliner and Lip Color are very similar to a tattoo, although not exactly the same. We use pigment rather than ink and do not deposit the pigment as far into the skin as a tattoo.

How long will my eyeliner/lip color last?

This is different for everyone and depends on how well you take care of it as well as your skin type. Oily skin tends to make pigment fade faster, and not wearing sunscreen can also make it fade faster.

Will I need a touch-up?

That depends on the results you desire to achieve as well as how your skin takes the pigment. You may have some patchy fading after your first procedure and want to get a touch-up. Not everyone has patchy fading but everyone does have some fading, which is part of the normal healing process.

How much does it fade when it heals?

Eyeliner will fade about 60%. Lips will face about 70%. Areola will fade 50-60% depending on your skin. Most people do want to get a touch-up once per year to freshen up their color.

Do you use numbing cream?

YES! I use only the best, and I re-numb throughout the whole procedure. I will do what I can to make sure you are as comfortable as possible.

CryoSkin

How does CryoSkin Slimming work?

CryoSkin Slimming is based on the technology of cryolipolysis where the fat cells are frozen and thus killed off. Your lymphatic system gets rid of these fat cells in the next two-six weeks.

How is this different than Cool Sculpting?

CryoSkin is a much more gentle and pain-free process. That is the main difference. We are also way more hands on and target those stubborn areas you really want targeted. We do not suck your skin up into a machine and leave the room. A very cold wand, cryo gel, and gentle massage techniqe are used.

How does it get rid of cellulite?

We are diminishing cellulite, not getting rid of it. We do this by helping the deeper layers of the skin to produce more collagen while getting rid of some of the contributing fat. When your skin becomes thicker, the cellulite is less noticable. Most people have cellulite. Even babies have it! Our skin thins as we age and as we dump sugar, processed foods, and other toxic substances into our bodies that sabotage our collagen and elastin production. Some minor diet changes will surely enhance your results!

How do CryoFacials help me look younger?

The cold temperatures stimulate the dermis to produce more collagen and elastin by tricking it into thinking damage has been created and needs repairing. More collagen and elastin help to smooth out fine lines, wrinkles, shrink pores, tighten up sagging skin, and help with uneven skin tone. It is a very relaxing facial, and results can be noticed with one session. However, we recommend several sessions for best results.

What areas can be helped?

Stomach, love handles, backside, butt lift, saddle bags, legs, cankles, loose skin on the neck, neck slimming, facial noting, sagging arms, and anywhere on the body where there is sagging skin and/or pinchable fat.
